Behavioral Health, Trauma Informed Approaches and PASRR : Are You Ready for November 28, 2019? (LIVESTREAM DATE) -- June 18, 2019

New federal regulations have added requirements that facility leaders ensure competency-based training and skill sets for all staff members providing care to residents with behavioral health conditions, whose needs are identified through the facility assessment, resident assessments, and care planning process. The sessions will address common behavioral health conditions, including mental illness, substance use disorders, and brain injury, and the impact these conditions have on somatic conditions and physical functioning. Attendees will learn about the impact of trauma, trauma informed approaches, and person-centered interventions non-pharmaceutical interventions that positively impact care for residents with behavioral health conditions, a requirement of federal regulation Phase 3. Additionally, attendees will learn about the Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) process in Maryland, plans for PASRR reform, and how PASRR can help with compliance with the new federal regulations.
