COVID Updates, Strategies for Moving Forward in Long-Term Care -- Skilled Nursing, CCRC and Assisted Living Facilities (LIVE WEBINAR) June 25, 2020

  • Registration Closed

COVID-19 has been a “learn as you go” experience with steep learning curves and constant clinical updates. Add in a vague playbook and it can seem almost impossible to stay on top. This webinar will overview the latest updates with a focus on detection, management, and control of the spread. We will learn how to get ahead of COVID by anticipating “new” problems, apply appropriate strategic solutions, expand our knowledge on the use of broad testing, and understand the impact COVID has had on the quality of life for our residents.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Discuss our expanding knowledge regarding COVID-19 and how that influences our ability to detect cases, manage the disease, and control its spread.

  2. Anticipate new pressures and problems that we will be confronted with in long term care and assisted living facilities as the country starts to reopen.

  3. Review the impact that changes in our infection control practices, such as wearing masks,  social distancing, isolation, and restriction of family visits have had on the quality of life and mental state of our residents.

  4. Understand the impact that broad testing programs will have on our workforce and our ability to maintain an environment in our facilities where residents can be maintained at their highest practicable level of function.
